CHILDREN IN KENYA
2.6 million children are homeless. 60% of the country lives on under $1 a day, Kids beg and steal to stay alive in the face of hunger, violence, disease, rape, and forced prostitution. EPIC has taken a specific interest to support poverty stricken Kenyans. We have personal ties to families in the district of Nyando. This area was already in crucial need for help to provide food and shelter for Kenyan children but now even more with the recent floods that wreaked havoc in the Nyando district. We donate money to a team of Kenyans on the ground in Nyando that are working hard with very little to provide for the local children and community. They need support to provide the basic necessities like food, shelter, shoes, and medical treatments (many with HIV) for every child as well as provide adequate schools with enough classrooms, materials, uniforms, and finances for teacher salaries.
